This policy applies to the VELARO Product Testing Program for U.S. consumers, our public website and related official recruitment and feedback activities.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on the form, test or communication, we may collect information that you provide, including:
- First name, email address, country and state or region;
- Confirmation that you are age 18 or older;
- Product interests, current product usage, testing preferences and willingness to provide feedback;
- Survey responses, private product feedback and interview responses; and
- Photos or private video feedback that you voluntarily submit for a test.
If you are selected for a specific test, we may collect your full name and shipping address when necessary to send the testing product. We do not currently ask Product Testing Program applicants to provide payment card data, government identification or highly sensitive personal information.
This website does not currently include an application form or analytics technology set by VELARO. Our website hosting provider may process standard technical information, such as IP address, browser or device information and request logs, to deliver and secure the website.
3. How We Collect Information
We may collect information through TikTok Instant Forms, other official VELARO recruitment forms, emails, product testing surveys, interviews, voluntary communications and future official community channels.
If a third-party platform hosts a form or community channel, that platform may also process information under its own privacy terms.
4. Why We Use Information
We may use personal information to:
- Review Product Tester applications and determine eligibility for individual tests;
- Match testers with suitable products;
- Contact participants about current applications, invitations, instructions, reminders and test completion;
- Contact people who have consented to hear about future testing opportunities;
- Send Tester Community invitations where consent has been provided;
- Arrange delivery of testing samples;
- Collect and analyze product feedback;
- Improve products, features, instructions, packaging and the consumer experience;
- Conduct consumer research and support future product development;
- Maintain testing participation history; and
- Prevent abuse or duplicate participation where reasonably necessary.
5. Email Communications
A. Testing-related communications
If you apply for or participate in a test, we may send communications needed to administer that activity, such as application updates, product testing invitations, test instructions, feedback reminders and completion messages. These communications are connected to the testing process you requested or accepted.
B. Community and marketing communications
If you separately agree, we may send optional Tester Community invitations, brand updates or other optional communications. Consent to optional marketing or community communications is not a condition of applying for a product test. You can opt out at any time by using an unsubscribe method provided in the message or emailing us at EguangnianUS1@outlook.com.
6. Legal and Consent Basis
Where required, we rely on the participant’s consent and other applicable legal bases for processing personal information. Depending on the context, processing may also be necessary to take steps requested by a participant, administer an agreed product test, support legitimate operational interests or meet legal obligations.
8. International Data Transfers
VELARO is operated by a company registered in mainland China while the Product Testing Program is intended for U.S. consumers. Personal information may therefore be processed or stored outside your state or country, including in China or in locations used by our service providers. Privacy and data protection laws in those locations may differ from those where you live.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the Product Testing Program, the purposes described in this policy, legal obligations, dispute resolution, fraud prevention or until a participant requests deletion where applicable. A Tester profile and relevant participation history may be retained while the participant has agreed to remain in the panel. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the reason it is processed.
10. Participant Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live and subject to applicable law, you may ask to:
- Unsubscribe from optional email communications;
- Access personal information we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Delete personal information;
- Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; or
- Leave the Product Tester Panel.
To make a request, email EguangnianUS1@outlook.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. We may need to verify your request before acting on it. Some information may be retained when permitted or required by law.
11. Children
The Product Testing Program is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly invite children under 18 to participate. If you believe a person under 18 has submitted personal information to the program, please contact us.
12. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please do not send passwords, payment card details, government identification or other sensitive information unless we specifically request it through an appropriate official process.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our practices, services or legal requirements change. When we make updates, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated through an appropriate channel when required.
